Ranting. Everyone’e done it. And, everyone has seen or heard others do it. It usually involves a person writing or talking at great length about a subject they’re passionate about.
Ranting is an outlet for expressing yourself. A form of creativity. You can get lost in what you’re saying. The words just seem to flow out. You feel a sense of clarity and timelessness. And, it’s easy for you to do because you care about the things your talking about. In short, ranting can put you in flow state. And, that’s exactly why you should do it.
There’s a few different ways you should start ranting. The most obvious are writing and speaking. And, you should do both. They’re similar in a lot of ways but they also engage your brain in unique and different ways.
Writing makes you put words to thoughts on paper. There is a visual element that is present in being able to see the words you’re writing. There’s also more pauses in writing. It’s easier to stop and think for a second before you write the next word. Something that can’t really be done in speaking. Which has to happen quicker. The brain has to decide what to say next so quickly there’s hardly any chance for a pause. The more pauses, the harder it is for the listener to stay engaged.
Ranting can be a tool that everyone should use. It will help you engage in topics you’re passionate about, which can lead to more confidence and passion in other parts of your life. It also will expand your ability to communicate. The more you do it the better you’ll get. And, it’s not hard to do because it’s about things you like. Over time your communication skills will develop into one of your greatest assets.
So, get out there and start ranting.
